QUAIL HILL Hunting Preserve, Hatchery and Dog Training

. Quail Hill was started by Roger and Barbara Wolfe in September of 1990. A run down piece of property on 65 acres that was used for a dump was the start of the now 500 acres and 7 fields used today.

Each field has it's own distinction and each hunter has his/her preference. Some are rolling and hilly while others are flat and have ponds on them. Some are wooded with brush and smaller fields. One is used for continental shoots, while yet another can be used by the handicapped.

Quail Hill prides itself on the wild hunt. Our birds are released on large tracts of land and you will be the only party on that piece. It is like the Nebraska CPR lands in Rimersburg fields. The fields in the Widnoon area are thick and when it snows the Sorgum and Sudan lay over and feed the birds during the winter.

We offer both guided and unguided hunts where we encourage you to bring your own dog and faithfull companion. Or you may choose to use one of our experienced guides and their well trained dogs.

At the end of a successfull hunt we ask you to sit in our Lodge and swap stories about the one that got away or the shell you forgot to put in and how great your dog did.

All we at Quail Hill ask is, Hunt us one time a year and give us a chance to thrill you and get a little adrenaline flowing like the days when game was wild and plentiful. As hunters we know that excitment and enjoy giving it to our hunters everytime.

Above is one of our hunting fields.

Here is Harley [A pointing Lab] And he will only point. A great big lovable baby too!!. You can hunt over him with Roger or Ken. This is the Rimersburg Area in the winter. It is thicker this year and we planted several winter plots along with Sorgum and Sudan grass and Deer plots. Are you ready to hunt?

The best part of hunting is to watch the kids. In reality they are the better hunters. You may bring them at 9 years old and no license is required.

On the right is Roger and his hunting party [ Roger is 3rd from the left] In the background you can notice the fields even in winter they are beautiful.
